Clip a whole stream at once.

Bring in an hour of video. Diffcut indexes it on your Mac and reads what the audience did, then your own agent picks 20–30 clips and says why each one works.

The Clip Room board for a two-hour stream: the audience signals across the top, with chapters and reactions marked, and clip cards below, each with its quote, signals, reason and score.
~5 min
to index an hour of video on an M5: words, reactions and shot changes
~2,100
tokens for your agent to read a 1 h 43 min talk, instead of watching it
20–30
clips from an hour, each with why it was picked

Diffcut listens. Your agent judges.

Diffcut measures the video cheaply on your Mac, so the agent you already pay for spends its effort on judgement, not on watching hours of footage.

  • Indexed on your MacEvery word with its time, the topics, loudness, shot changes and faces.
  • Reactions heardLaughter, applause, cheering and shouting, from Apple’s built-in sound classifier.
  • Your agent picksIt reads the digest, looks up the context and picks moments that stand alone, with a hook and a reason.
  • Whole sentencesEvery pick is snapped to whole sentences and measured; the room adds its own reasons.
  • A rank, not a promiseHow strongly the signals agree on a range. It never predicts views.
  • Files or linksA saved stream, a podcast or a talk, or a link, fetched with yt-dlp.

Start from what the audience did.

Most replayed, comments that name a time, chat speeding up and the reactions heard, layered on one strip with every candidate’s range on it.

The audience strip of a two-hour stream: one combined signal with peaks at each chapter, and below it Most replayed, chat, comments, loudness and reactions, with candidate clips marked.

Signals a video doesn’t have are left out, never counted as zero. Comment and chat authors are never kept.

Triage with your keys.

Clips arrive as cards that preview on hover. Accept the ones you want; each becomes its own 9:16 version, ready to post.

  • Made when you acceptThe range, the speaker kept in frame, word-pop captions, the hook card and the campaign’s credit.
  • Scored with reasonsThe Shorts score rates its hook, how it stands alone, pacing, energy and length.
  • Export acceptedOne H.264 file per clip at 1080 × 1920, with its caption beside it.

Campaign mode.

Paste a clipping campaign’s brief. Its lengths, platforms, aspect, on-screen credit, tags, captions and banned words are read from it, and every clip is checked against them before export.

  • Read from the briefYour agent refines the rules, and you can edit any of them.
  • Checked per clipRights, length, aspect, credit on screen, tags, captions and banned words.
  • Your own streams tooWithout a campaign, the room works the same way.
A campaign’s rules in the Clip Room: platforms, 30 to 60 seconds, 9:16, an on-screen credit, tags, words never to say, and captions required.

For your content, or campaigns that allow it.

The Clip Room is for clipping your own videos and streams, or for campaigns that authorise clipping. Before anything is downloaded from a link, you say which, and Diffcut records your answer with the video.

  • Only you can answerAn agent can ask to bring in a link. It waits for you to confirm the rights in Diffcut.
  • No account, no cookiesEvery download runs without cookies or a signed-in account.
Clip a long video: a link, then “Whose video is it?” with three answers: my own video, a campaign that allows it, or the creator’s permission. A note says YouTube’s terms don’t allow downloading without permission.

Questions

Does the rank predict views?

No. It shows how strongly the audience signals agree on a clip’s range, against the rest of the same video. Diffcut never says it predicts views or earnings.

Which agent picks the clips?

Find clips runs your own Claude Code with the Clip Room skill and read-only web search, for context. Any agent in the terminal drawer that takes Diffcut’s tools, such as Codex or Gemini CLI, can read the same digests and put picks on the board. Or pick from the signals alone, with no agent.

Can I clip videos that aren’t mine?

Only with the right to: your own videos and streams, a clipping campaign that authorises it, or the rights holder’s permission. Diffcut asks before anything is downloaded and records your answer with the video. YouTube’s terms don’t allow downloading without permission.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The index is built on your Mac. Your agent reads the digest Diffcut makes, a page or two of text, and the stretches of transcript it asks for, under your own account.

Is yt-dlp bundled?

No. Diffcut uses a yt-dlp already on your Mac, or offers to download the official macOS release from GitHub, checked against its published checksums. It runs with no account and no cookies.

What about Twitch chat?

yt-dlp doesn’t fetch Twitch chat replays, so import the chat as a TwitchDownloader JSON file or a CSV.

Make the cut.

Diffcut is free, open source and early: the first Mac build isn’t out yet. Leave your email and we’ll write once, when it’s ready.
