No green screen needed.
Remove the background behind a person, replace it with a colour, blur it, or set a presenter in the corner of a screen recording. Diffcut finds the person on your Mac.

Four ways to use it.
Pick one in the clip’s Background section. Preview and export draw it the same way.
- RemoveKeep just the person, over whatever is on the tracks below.
- ReplacePut a colour of your choice behind them.
- BlurSoften the room alone, so no halo forms around the person.
- PresenterSet yourself in the bottom left or right corner, over a screen recording.
- People or Main subjectChoose what counts as the foreground.
- Edges to tasteEdge refine, shrink or grow, and feather, each with keyframes.
Clean at the edges.
A quick matte lands in seconds, then the best one replaces it. Along the outline, Diffcut works out each pixel again from the colours on either side, so no rim of the old background is left.
Questions
Do I need a green screen?
No. Diffcut finds the person in each frame of ordinary footage with Apple’s Vision, which is built into macOS, so there is no model to download.
Does it work on things that aren’t people?
Choose Main subject instead of People and Vision picks the main thing in the frame.
Is my footage uploaded?
No. The matte is made on your Mac and kept in your project folder.
Can my agent do it?
Yes. Diffcut’s tools include background_remove and background_apply, so your agent can set it up too.
